Home and Away

Well it is all getting mundane, now we will have such suspense as we wonder what what is his name oh how terrible the characters are now so memorable that even though I do watch most nights I just do not remember, they have so much impact.

Now who have we got - Alf Stewart dear old Alf well he is an oldie but a goodie, he can act and at times his story lines ah quite good.. Oh and Sally she has progress through the years to be a much loved character, but please really her rise to be head of the school was rather well fast tracked and unbelievable. Brad Armstrong well he has some depth but well under played. Cassie Turner well her story lines could have a great over haul and she does need a little more acting direction to make her believable. Colleen Smart she is sometimes so great so much could be done with this character, and she is a dam good actress one of a kind. Belle well she needs to have more morals, just think how her story lines send out messages to the young growing up kids who believe this is the way to live life. Drew Curtis well if the boy could act and get his hair cut of at least combed what can one say. Irene Roberts has grown into a very believable actress she does some really terrific scene and is often under utilized with the story lines. Dan Baker well he is better gone it was never a believable character and well he did not do justice he is better on Bingo although that I do not watch. Jack Holden well what a character, what a spunk and a charmer he could win a girls heart at any age, but just how many times can he get badly hurt without finally dying that I do ponder on each time I watch the screen. Morag Bellingham she could bring in so much more to the show a great character and very well played. Tony Holden well another real honey well under utilized and could really have much more airplay. Ric Dalby he sure is a sweetie and would melt many a heart so give him some real story lines to show what he can do. Dr Rachel Armstrong she is very likeable but really this new bloke as her lover, she could do so much better. Geoff Campbell oh yes please give him some real meaty scenes where he can give the show some real good moral understanding of how life could be without being a wowser but living a life to be proud. Annie Campbell oh we have not scene what she can do but give her story lines that will do her old Grandpa proud. Leah Oh she could have more to her and the business and her son and her family of origin. Matilda Hunter well I do not think she really wants to be there at the moment or is it that you writers are writing her out? Lucas Holden he would have been far better suited to be with Matilda but what can we say, if only we could put a bee in the bonnet of the script writer. Martha Mackenzie yes she is quite a good actress at time so give her a go but if she is going to be linked to who is he Johna or

So make it believable and take advantage of the caravan park and the fact that it is HOME and AWAY does not travellers come and holiday at the BAY?

Some time ago a Coment I made

I have been a long time watcher of this program, but am not so impressed with some things of late. 1. I do not really like the new introduction song arrangement. It does nothing to entice the viewer, detracts from the relaxed atmosphere that one should find in a town such as Summer Bay. 2. the story lines are getting so predictable and the use of similar events replayed with different characters. You Guys can surely get creative with some of the stories and character. I love Sally and I think she should have more depth to her, I love the love that is growing between her and what ever his name is... The plot with Rick well we have seen it all before. Kassie story well I am sure we all have had enough of that she either comes back or need not be shown again. As the title of the story is Home and Away why not take advantage of that fact and have some away things happening. The whole story with Amanda well, if the woman could really act maybe it could be something; she is a character who has out lived her usefulness. Dan also does not have much to add to the Show when it comes to it. You really need some great characters to bring the stories on, but please think about the moral stand you take. This show can influence a nation of young viewers, for good or not so good.. My hope is that it is for good.. One thing that you could bring in to the show is an organisation called Family Support Services, so do some research on what Family Support does and how you could bring a Family Worker in as a character which could give links to parts of the story that you may want to tell, but get messages across to some of your viewers. Home and Away

Since the beginning of Home and Away I have continued to watch. Religiously at 7pm each week day night come rain or shine our TV in tuned to channel 7. Did not really matter what else in the world was happening, I just had to watch. If I could not get to the TV that evening then the video had to be set.

I watched as Pipper and Tom and family arrived in the Bay. The beach the caravan park and that house all kept my interest and fill my night with story. Sally ever so cute with mischief in mind and the other kids in the home, some of which their names now a blur.

Flat head and his grumpy exterior took centre stage. Old Donald really took the part off very well, not sure how to take him, but soon he reveal the kind soul he really was to become. Alf and his sister Celia as she rode on her bike seemed to give the show such a nice touch of the past.

Alsia at the shop and the relationship begins with Alf as he falls for her in the end. Of course how could she resist such a bloke. The real Aussie Man. The simple life was portrayed by actors who really did know how to act.

The stories of the Children through the years as they grew, kept me interested each night to see what they would get up to. Some stars came and went and we thought it might end, but they found once again a story that would remain. The characters were solid, they had some substance and they had a real story to tell. It was interesting to see the life being portrayed on the screen of those people that became very familiar.

The gypsy like couple now who were they called; I remember Shiela Conelly but can not remember her character name. There was Steven the boy who grew up to a man, and what was the name of the sisters he had? The story of Bobby kept us really enthralled for some time, the child and all that gave some structure to the events. Donald mellowed and came good in the end.

Oh they were times that really did have some meaning you just had to follow the story. Morag as she entered becoming the baddie for everyone to hate. But how could you hate such an actress who took off the part with such style & Finesse.

The story has as everything these days has gone, watered down most of the real things that gave the impression of good. The morels have slipped quite alarmingly so, that why do I bother really tuning in to the show.

At one time they would take a subject that was in the public attention and do justice to the cause and make us all see the consequence of some actions. But now I am not sure, with the Drag racing theme, if they are just getting on the band wagon and milking the public with every scene.

Some of the characters just have not got what it takes to act out a part which is believable to me. The story line seems to repeat and repeat never do they grow a story that will be very unique. They seem to rehash the same old tired things.

Oh why do I bother watching TV at 7pm on 7.. I have hope that maybe a script writer may come, that remembers where this show has come. One who will bring back some real actors at least then work on the story line that will make some difference to us viewers as well as entertain.

OH Why??? I await..
